Natural Disasters & Other Relatives
I've been fortunate enough not to live a boring life.
Among other things, I've survived:
- a bushwhacking by an outlaw pancreas
- 3 brushes with desert gales & hurricanes
- a jellyfish swarm
- a tornado while showering
- brushes with other tornadoes
- a knife attack by a freaked-out,
high-as-a-kite neighbor
- several flash floods
- various hail strorms (one on my motorcycle in heavy traffic - I just
tucked in & kept going)
- several fires
- a plague of centipedes
- a plague of frogs (just kidding - I'm neither Hebrew nor Egyptian)
- being caught in an undertow
- various 20-30 MPH wrecks on two wheels (here is the
worst, here is the first)
- various 30-50 MPH wrecks in four wheel vehicles
- an attack by a German Shepherd
- falling 20 feet from a tree
- being innocently in the midst of a bad neighborhood gunfight
- assaults by several drunk red necks
- several small explosions (all my own fault)
- mixing drugs & highways - twice on foot, twice in a car
(definitely my own fault; death would have been justice,
but God is merciful)
- home lightning strikes
- serious industrial soap poisoning
- lifting the carcass of a 3-5 days dead squirrel and catching
a lungfull of rotting innards
- being kidnapped
I have yet to meet a shark close up, be in a plane aloft when it
loses power, or take on a rabid lion with mice nibbling its tail,
but there's still time.
